“I want to empower all residents of District 7 to exercise their voice and their vote,” Morgan Witt said. “As councilwoman I’ll amplify those voices to create a more equitable, affordable, and mobile Austin for all.”
Yesterday, Austinite Morgan Witt officially announced her election bid for the District 7 seat on Austin’s City Council against incumbent Leslie Pool for the November 3rd election.
As the progressive candidate, Morgan’s top three priorities are making Austin more equitable, affordable, and mobile. She’ll focus on building a thriving community for all by prioritizing the funding of essential community services and transforming the role of law enforcement in our city. Witt will also strive to create more opportunities for individuals and families to live in the neighborhood of their choosing by ending apartment bans and encouraging more multi-family housing in every neighborhood. Finally, Witt has an eye on Austin’s future through an expansion of the city’s transportation network in order to reduce traffic, improve accessibility, and preserve Austin’s cherished green spaces.
